A brake job at a fixed shop typically takes 1–2 hours of actual labor. But your time investment is much longer:

• Check-in and wait for an open bay: 30–60 min
• Actual brake work: 60–120 min
• Wait for paperwork, payment, vehicle retrieval: 15–30 min
• Drive home: 15–30 min

What Can Make a Job Take Longer?

A few factors can extend the job time:

• Stuck or corroded lug nuts/bolts: Common on older vehicles or those that haven't had wheel service in years. We have the tools to handle this.
• Seized caliper bolts: Sometimes corrosion seizes hardware — this adds time but is a normal part of mobile brake work.
• Unexpected rotor damage: If pads were severely worn, rotors may need replacement when we initially expected only pads. We'll always discuss this before doing the additional work.
• Vehicle-specific complexity: Some vehicles (certain European makes, trucks with drum rear brakes) take longer than average. We account for this in scheduling.
